It has begun. Hal’s novice plan starts out relatively easy with total weekly mileage of 15-16-15 for the first three weeks.

In lieu of a 3 mile run on Tuesday I had a soccer game, our first of the outdoor season. While we unfortunately got our asses kicked, I was able to cover 5 miles over the course of the game. I’d normally expect more in the range of 3.5 – 4 miles per game but I played more minutes than normal this week due to limited substitutes. Also, being a defender on the lesser team meant a lot of running.
Since I got a couple extra miles in on Tuesday, I’ve adjusted my Wed/Thurs runs to 2/2. Wednesday’s run was tough being on very heavy legs following the soccer game.
Ankles are holding up ok for now. Thankfully soccer didn’t seem to make anything worse, which was a concern.
